Frequently Asked Questions

  • We want you to know what front, blind, and rear crosses are, and for you to have started sequencing 10-15 obstacles. Our instructors are selected not only for their skills and achievements, but also for their effective and compassionate coaching - they are prepared to support you.

If you’re unsure whether or not you meet these guidelines, please do not hesitate to reach out!

  • The handler must be a junior handler, which we define as 20 years old and under at the time of camp.

All levels will be working on standard and jumping courses. This includes 12-weave poles, dogwalk, teeter, and a-frame. Dogs must be proficient on all obstacles and at least 18 months of age to attend camp. If your dog is not proficient on all obstacles, check out our Lend A Paw Program!

  • All junior handlers up to age 20 are welcome to apply!

  • BJAC is a day camp! We do expect campers and their families to select local housing, though we are always happy to offer support when needed. Often, our camp locations have RV spots and/or rental opportunities available!

  • Absolutely! We understand that not every dog will thrive at or is ready for BJAC. That’s why we developed our Lend A Paw Program! Generous individuals loan their fully trained, friendly, and reliable dogs to campers who need them. This program is open to all and doesn’t cost anything extra.

  • Yes! Campers are welcome to bring multiple dogs to camp (maximum, 3). If you wish to run multiple dogs each session, you will need to register for multiple spots. If you wish to split your sessions between the dogs, you will need to include each dog on your registration form. (example: Dog’s Name: Jinx/Lime)

  • We offer scholarships every single year! Generally, scholarship applications open the December before camp.

If you’ve missed the scholarship window or didn’t receive a scholarship, we suggest fundraising! Campers often fundraise by selling some sort of product (braided leashes, baked goods, etc.) or just by starting a gofundme. Luckily, our community loves to support juniors!

  • If there are spots available, registration is open up until the day before camp starts!

  • First of all, thank you! We could not do what we do without the support of our generous sponsors. If you’d like to donate products or funds, please email us: bjac.juniors@gmail.com

We are also always looking for trained dogs for our Lend A Paw Program! If you have a trained, friendly, stable dog who you think might be suitable for a Junior Handler to run, please email us: bjac.juniors@gmail.com
